When I’m rich and AFTER i’ve spent the majority of my wealth feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and helping the poor…the first thing i’m gonna do is bring MacGyver back. Screw Ninja Turtles. Screw Care Bears. Screw Saved By The Bell. Screw it all. All I really want back is MacGyver. And someday…i’m gonna bring it back. You heard it here first.
I’ve gotta be the most random blogger on the face of the earth.
So Rachel’s family is coming into town later this week cuz of a wedding this weekend. A close friend of the family’s is getting married. It’ll be fun. Anyway, I came across this video and I thought it was hilarious. Hopefully nothing like this happens this weekend.
So Rachel and I are kinda getting into this new-ish show, Chuck. There’s a character named Captain Awesome. He is definitely awesome. Anyway…Rachel wants me to be a little bit more awesome. So after a few hours of searching amazon, I found the perfect book to help with my awesomeness.
And the cactus below is anything but awesome. So steer clear.
Doha Chebib, a Canadian Designer, has created these log bowls from fallen trees. Each bowl is unique and is hand-finished with acrylic colors. My Cinnamon Toast Crunch would be tasty in these logs.
My writing has gone down the drain. Looking back at some of my past posts (while I was at Princeton), i’m amazed at how good I once was. I’m not sure where my writing has gone. It’s strange. Not sure if I just don’t spend/have/put in the time I used to or if it’s just that my mind is deteriorating with old age (i’m 24).
The reason I bring this up is cuz recently a bunch of people have come across and commented on one of my best posts ever, A Blog on Love. It’s a post I wrote a couple years back about my now wife, Rachel.
That writing is smooth. I wish I still had it. Maybe I just need to a) write more and b) put more time into it. That’s probably it. But dude, there is some good writing back in the day. I gotta get the groove back.
So if you’re a Mormon then you know exactly what this weekend is. It’s conference weekend. The leaders of our church gather in Salt Lake City and use satellite broadcast to speak to members of the church throughout the world. There are multiple sessions throughout the weekend and it’s a great time to learn and be strengthened.
A couple years back while I was at Princeton I wrote a blog post that tried to illustrate what exactly Conference is and why it’s so important. The post is here: The Prophet Speaks on Sat/Sun.
To see all my posts on religion you can go here. To follow conference commentary on Twitter you can go here. To watch or listen to General Conference online, you can go here. To learn more about the Mormons, go here.
My wife had a rough day today. I’m in Seattle away from her and I just wish I was there with her. It’s hard to express love over the phone.
She rocks. She’s awesome. She’s special. Rachel, I love you. Hope tomorrow is better than today. It should be. Cuz I get home. Can’t wait to see you. :)
I’m at NACAC right now in Seattle. It’s the biggest conference of the year surrounding college admissions, guidance counselors, admissions officers, etc. I’m looking forward to these next few days. They are extremely important for us. Word.
